Soon after that i forgot what happened but i didnt use my account for a while b/c there was no need for me to go to the bank. Later on i find out my account has been closed b/c of the overdraft. They told me that i could repay them the overdraft fee of 21$ in the next 3 years, and after 3 years i could open an account with them again. (I didnt pay it at that time b/c i had no $ and eventually forgot about it.)
So Its been a long time and i forgot all about my wamu account b/c i didnt really use it much. Later i got a BOA account w/ 2 Credit cards and have been good at paying those off for the pass couple years(about 10-15k in spending, with full ontime payments w/ an exception of a payment late by 2 days.).
Now that i see WAMU going bankrupt, i remember my overdraft from 6 years ago that i did not pay back. So how much would this effect my credit score? Im guessing my credit score is still alright since i was able to open a citicard 3 years ago w/ a 4000$ limit.
And what should i do now? i cant really pay WAMU back since they are closed? And i remember looking at one of my credit reports while looking at apartments and WAMU was stated on it.

The apartment building I applied to live at asked for a guarantor since I have a short rental history, and will not start work until I have moved in. I will make close to 40x annually my monthly rent (I understand this is standard?) and my credit score is 741, though I do have students loans (that are still within the grace period). My problem is that my parents, who are my guarantors, do not have good credit. I’m wondering if that means I will be turned down, or if my ratings will matter more than their’s do. Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed light on this problem and ease my troubled mind!!

My husband was medically retired from the Marine Corps due to spine surgery, and thinking that the cost of living would be cheaper, and having promises of job opportunities, we moved across the US. We bought a home that ended up being worst than the Tom Hanks film “Money Pit” and after sinking over $70,000 into it (and sadly it STILL needed more) as well as paying over $1,000 a month in electric (despite the fact we lived in only two rooms because it was under construction) when neither of us, with college degrees, could find a job paying more than minimum the house was forclosed.
We are now bringing in over $4,000 a month. We have approximately $3-5,000 we can put down on a home- the home we are looking at is $130,000. Does anyone know of any lenders that still may consider us? And what if we are wanting to file bancruptcy? Will that help or assist in getting a loan?
